Pandas, Mists & Shadowy Apparitions - Episode 11

Shadow Priests? Shadow Priests. Episode 11 of Final Boss TV is all about our favorite Shadowy Apparitions.  Drye from <WHATEVER WERE AWESOME> and Twintop from <Slash Hug> join our Hosts Bay and Ana for an episode filled with all things Shadow Priests… And Twintop’s Frostmourne.

Ever wonder what your favorite Shadow Priest theorycrafters do to pull it all off? Drye discusses his 30-something BiS combinations with his personal spreadsheet (yikes!) and the rollercoaster of nerfs, buffs and bugs. Twintop built himself a monster computer for the sole purpose of running simulations to get all of you the information you need to melt face with ease. Let’s not forget the time commitment involved with such time-sensitive material, either.  Stat squish, please!

Drye and Twintop are asked to review the history of Shadow Priests.  When did they become a viable raid asset? When was their DPS good? What changes were had to make them better?  Drye steals the question and goes from Vanilla to present day.  What better person to answer? He’s been playing a Shadow Priest the entire time!  Twintop follows up with what’s good and bad about Shadow Priests in Mists, and Drye goes on a rant about being held back by Shadow Orbs.

Pro-Tip: Obtain Tito from the Raiding with Leashes II achievement and he will whip up a whirlwind with killable cow critters that you can use to build orbs out of combat.

The Meat and Potatoes part of the show covers a wide array of topics.  These include Talent interactions, how single target damage is, what the “sweet spot” is for multidotting adds, how to handle AE encounters, Best in Slot lists (with a TON of math talk), and what Addons you should be utilizing to maximize your DPS. Twintop has some crazy weak auras with his setup.

We finish off the show with some community questions and find out Drye doesn’t have a second monitor. Does he realize what century we’re in yet?

Tune in next week for Mistweavers OR Windwalkers. What we choose depends on your Youtube comments, so let us know!

The World First Victors Episode 10

Final Boss has an incredible show today for all you World First raiding junkies.  The GM and Raid Leader of <Method>, Sco and Rogerbrown, join Bay and Ana today to provide a fascinating insight to their World (of Warcraft).

On one hand we have the EU and US progression, and on the other we have the Asian progression. Sco and Roger talk a little bit about how this impacts their own progression, especially in regards to releasing kill videos early as Stars did for their Garrosh kill.  Is it time to open up communication to the Asian guilds to avoid future controversy?

Next on the plate is an open sandbox question where our guests explore the ups and downs of Mists of Pandaria raiding.  During which they talk about gating in T14, the ease or difficulty of raid bosses, how much of a difference having item level upgrades made, whether or not alts were used, what kind of roadblocks and bugs they encountered, and what their favorite fights were.  Not to give anything away, but Sco definitely fired some shots about the competition with his favored fight.

Finally, what does it take to run Method and just what goes into making this guild the top guild in the world?  Sco and Roger discuss officers, raid leaders, the amazing and dedicated players, and the few players that go above and beyond just playing well.  It’s easy to see why Method is such a strong team of players capable of sweeping an entire expansion.

Also, don’t miss Sco tell Roger’s back-story of when he originally joined Method and got kicked.  Yes, Roger, their now-raid leader, almost wasn’t part of Method at all.

Episode 9 - Now Live on Youtube

Midwinter has taken over for this episode of Final Boss TV.  Bay and Ana team up with Ryethe –Enhance Shaman- and Spazo – Rogue – to discuss all things Siege of Orgrimmar and how progression has been panning out.  Slootbag also thought it prudent to add a disclaimer: “Midwinter Inc. is not responsible for any offensive language from Spazo or Ryethe.”  However, it would seem Ana is the one to break the offensive language barrier.  And she looks so sweet and innocent!

Normally we start off with discussing what our guests have been up to, but we have two players that don’t know what free time is until Garrosh dies.  Raiding > Sleep > Work > Maybe a nap > Raiding > rinse and repeat.  Don’t ever say these players aren’t dedicated to the cause!  Instead we start off with a quick discussion of just what can kill these top tier guilds, what it’s like raiding in Midwinter, and what was it like moving into a top world spot for progression.

Next on topic:  Alts, Alts and more Alts, followed by a healthy dose of class stacking.  Midwinter did five, yes FIVE normal mode runs the first week to ensure their players had gear spread out as best as possible.  Aside from the mandatory 30 warlocks, class stacking doesn’t really seem to be a thing this tier.

Moving on, the crew goes through and discusses the changes to their respective classes, what was good and what was bad, and what they liked and didn’t like.  Ana still hates DKs, in case you were curious.

Finally, we come to the crux of the show: Siege of Orgrimmar progression.  (Progression Beards?) This encompasses favorite/least favorite boss fights, what everyone thought of the first 8 bosses, and how each fight went from Malkorok on.  Spazo seems to love the fact that he can kill not one, but two groups of daily quest givers as revenge.  Little bit of a dark side, eh?
